ANNUAL REUNION OF THE EAST TRUMBULL SCHOOL GIRLS OF 1870
Friday, the 20th of June, the annual reunion of the 1870 E. Trumbull school girls was held at the pleasant home of one of their number, Mrs. Effie Andrus, Mentor Ave., Painesville, O.
The day was very pleasantly spent, visiting interspersed with victrola music and an unusual treat, three original poems. Mr. and Mrs. Andrus each read a poem, “My Service Star,” their younger son, Forest, being still over seas. A letter was received while the company was there saying he was well and expected soon to sail for home.
Miss Rosalie Andrews, of Geneva, favored us with poem written for the occasion, in which she very vividly painted a word picture of the scenes around the old school house; also noting the fortune of each one of “the girls.” This was very much appreciated. A letter was read from Viola Nye Evans who is in Nebraska.
Sympathy was extended to Mrs. Emma Brown in the death of her husband, also to the sister and children of our deceased member, Mrs. Lorence Potter. An invitation to meet with Miss Andrus in Geneva, next year, was accepted. All who were there felt they would have missed much enjoyment, had they failed to attend this reunion.
