STUDENTS TO GIVE COLLEGE COMEDY

The class of 1917 of Harbor High school will give this year as the annual play the interesting college comedy-drama, “Strongheart.” Practice work under the direction of Miss Hardy and Mr. Templar is already under way and the heavy cast is being drilled in the parts.

The play, which is written in four good-sized acts, is from the prolific pen of William C. DeMille and is along heavier lines than anything ever given by the Senior class of the Harbor High school. The cast calls for 21 young people, giving practically all the class an opportunity to display their Thespian talents.

JOE POWERS has been assigned the titular role of Soangataba, or “Strongheart.” Other parts are as follows:

Taylor, a sophomore, CLARENCE BUGBEE; Ross, a freshman, HOWARD PORTER READE; a “grind,” TAITO KANTONEN; Thorne, a “special,” KENNETH NOGAL; Fred Skinner, a sport, ISADORE ROSENBLITH; Frank Nelson, a senior, EDW. __________

TO ADDRESS CLASS

W. E. Wenner, superintendent of the Harbor Special schools, goes to Williamsfield this evening, where he is to address the graduating class of the high school. The Harbor High orchestra will accompany him to furnish the music.

Mr. Wenner’s services have always been in general demand at this time of the year, and last spring he made commencement addresses in several schools. This year, prior to this evening’s appearance, he has spoken to the graduates of Hartsgrove and North Bloomfield schools.
